Page 2 of 3 Buster Werkenbak has successfully enabled
hundreds of people to access employment in areas with very poor public
transport, with funding provided by Warwickshire County Council and Advantage
West Midlands.
Buster Werkenbak provides a demand
responsive transport service collecting passengers from local pick up points
and taking them to and from work for only £1.50 per journey. The service is designed to enable access to
areas that otherwise would be inaccessible without a private means of
transport.
We are now actively looking at the
possibility of opening up the service to the residents within Tamworth
as we feel they may be in a position to benefit from the services we have to
offer.
Tamworth is famous for its rural views and idyllic atmosphere with a large
area classified as green belt land.
However living with all this beauty has its price. One of these is poor regular public transport,
which makes travelling to work in and around the area almost impossible without
your own transport.
This is where Buster Werkenbak comes
in. For the past five years Buster
Werkenbak has been providing a demand responsive service in Birmingham
and North Warwickshire collecting passengers
from local pick up points and taking them to and from local employment sites
which would normally be beyond their reach.
There are more than five major business parks within ten miles of Tamworth but little reliable transportation to them. The Service would also be able to take you to
interviews or training courses.
Buster Werkenbak is overwhelmingly popular
with our regular users and in a recent survey many expressed their reliance on
the service to retain their current jobs.
“Without funding services like this would
be unable to operate, which would mean a great deal of people unable to get to
work.” - Robert Brown CEO Merlin Venture Ltd.
Operating Monday to Friday between 5.30am
until 10.30pm we are currently able to take residents of North Warwickshire to
work at Hams Hall, Kingsbury Link and Birch Coppice
Business Parks
as well as across the region.
We hope to start offering our services to Tamworth residents but need your help. If you are a Tamworth
resident simply send an email with you name and postcode to

or if you are an employer we can come out to see you to discuss your
needs. If we can find sufficient demand
we will approach Staffordshire County Council for additional funding. We are keen to offer these services to an
even wider area including Tamworth but need
evidence of the demand.

proposal please contact Paul Clarke on 0845 234 1234 or email
