Has been a many times winner of the BBC Big
Band Competition, initially in the youth section - five times - and
latterly in the senior section - three times. It has been unbeaten
in the competition for twelve years.
The band has travelled extensively abroad and performed in Miami at
the IAJE Conference (reviewing an award for Outstanding Service to
Jazz Education), in Moscow and to many events in western Europe,
including The Montreux Jazz Festival. |
